Privacy Policy
YouTubeBuddy Chrome Extension — Last updated: May 2026
YouTubeBuddy is a Chrome extension that automates repetitive workflows inside YouTube Studio. This policy explains what data the extension stores and what it does not collect.
Data We Do Not Collect
YouTubeBuddy does not:
- Collect, transmit, or share any personal data
- Make any external network requests
- track usage, behaviour, or analytics
- access your YouTube account credentials or tokens
- communicate with any server outside your browser
Data Stored Locally in Your Browser
The extension stores the following data exclusively in your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API. This data never leaves your device.
- Settings (synced across your Chrome profile): your preferred language, channel language, automation options, and delay settings.
- Run history (local only): a log of past automation runs including video titles, results, and timestamps. Stored on your device only and can be cleared at any time from the History tab.
- Skip cache (local only): a list of video IDs that have already been processed, used to avoid re-processing in future bulk runs. Can be cleared at any time from Settings.
Permissions
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- activeTab — to interact with the currently open YouTube Studio tab.
- scripting — to inject the automation script into YouTube Studio pages.
- storage — to save your settings and run history locally in your browser.
- Host permission for studio.youtube.com — the extension only operates on YouTube Studio and has no access to any other website.
Third-Party Services
YouTubeBuddy does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.
